At Messiah we are about “creating environments for life transformation”. Our adult classes are designed for life transformation not just information.  We would encourage you to view a brief video “Mission and Beliefs” to understand more about why we offer the classes we do here at Messiah.  We hope that each Sunday morning is life transforming for you whether you gather with your Faith Family for worship or whether you are with us through live streaming of our worship at 9:30 am.  We want your worship with us to grow your “Faith Circle”, so you can leave filled up with God’s love, grace and truth as you go about your week.  During the school year we offer a variety of classes to equip you to bring Jesus and your faith into key areas of your life.  Our core classes are Building Healthy Marriages, Revive, Parenting, and I Was Broke, But Now I’m Not.  Below are summaries of each of these classes.  We believe that these core classes will be of value to almost all of us in either our own personal life or in our being able to encourage and help people with interact with on a regular basis. In addition, we offer other courses that will help you with other concerns and life circumstance you may be facing. Summaries of some recent classes offered are also listed below.  Our adult growth classes are scheduled in 5-6 week blocks in the fall, winter and late winter/ early spring typically on Wed. evenings.  Child care is provided for those who sign up in advance for it.  As classes are scheduled, dates and times will be posted. You can register at church or by calling the church office.

MEET MESSIAH - JANUARY 8, 2012

If you are “newer” to Messiah and would like to get to know the Messiah Faith Family better, we hope you will join us on April 15, 2012 from 6:00- 7:30pm. We will begin with some great desserts & beverages from Journeys Coffee House! We will have breakout groups for kids, youth and adults. Learn about our mission, priorities, see how you can get connected, grow and make a difference with us.

OWLs

(Older, Wiser, Lutherans – open to anyone!) Pastor led study. This winter will continue study and application of the book of I Corinthians to our faith and life. Tuesdays 9:30 to 10:30 am through Memorial Day.

MEN'S BIBLE STUDY

Where are you men of courage?  Stand up and answer the call.  If you want to finish your life better than you started, and your are not satisfied with being just good enough, then be courageous and come to the Courageous Life Bible Study.  Any questions speak with Greg Striebel, Rob Warner, Jerry Ladwig, or Joel Beeck. Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Route 56.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY

Come and get to know some amazing women here at Messiah. The time is informal, but very transforming. We'll begin with 'Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed : A Study of David' by Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Priscilla Shirer. Wednesdays from 9:30 - 11:30 am.

Join us Downtown at Journeys Coffee House (main floor) for a weekly bible study for women. We'll be studying Live Intimately, Lessons From the Upper Room from the Fresh Life Series. This is a 10 week study. Please contact Valerie Dvorak at 989-835-8366 for more information. Thursdays from 9:00 - 11:00 am.

REVIVE

As we journey through life, we can’t help but pick up a little (or a lot) of baggage along the way.  Hurts that are caused by others, bad habits we pickup, and the hang-ups we collect all weigh us down.  God wants your journey to be lighter, healthier, and more vibrant!  Experience a new journey that promotes hope, heals hearts, and revives lives! Sundays from 9:30 - 10:30 am beginning Febrary 26.

PARENTING

God has a plan for your family. God's design for families is that the children will grow up to know Him, and he wants us as parents to teach our children to love and obey him. But how do we do that? What does the bible say about raising children? In this class, we will be watching a DVD called "Raising Godly Children in an Ungodly World". We'll be discussing how to help our children grow in the Lord and how to be the parents God wants us to be. This class is especially suited for families with young children, but is open to all. Sundays 9:30am to 10:30 am.

LIFE, DEATH & RESSURECTION OF THE MESSIAH

The Faith Lessons is a video series designed to help you better understand the ancient times, places and customs during Jesus' life & ministry. We will study the Gospel of Mark during the last few weeks in Jesus' life leading up to his death on the cross. The author, Ray Vander Laan, is an outstanding teacher and each lesson will challenge you to be a true follower of Jesus. Sundays February 26 - April 8 from 9:30 - 10:30 am.
